Have you been thinking about taking a trip to Europe? If so, one place that you should definitely put on your itinerary is Vienna. Not only is it a beautiful area to do outdoor things like swimming and skiing, but it’s also a haven for great art, good food and historical landmarks.

So, if you’re curious to know about some of the fun things that you can do while you’re traveling throughout Vienna, we have enclosed five of our favorite ones below:

Graben Vienna Shopping Street. There aren’t a lot of people who travel to another country and don’t want to do a bit of shopping. That’s why we thought we should start by mentioning Graben Vienna Shopping Street first. It’s a shopping street that is located within the middle of the city. Most of the buildings within the area are from the 17th and 18th century and inside of it, you can find everything from a porcelain factory (Augarten) and perfumery (Nagele & Strubell) to a gourmet supermarket (Julius Meinl) and one of the largest H&M stores too. Plus there are plenty of eateries there as well.

Riesenrad. If you want to get a view of the entire landscape of Vienna, take a ride on either the 19th-century Riesenrad. It’s a giant ferris wheel that was featured in The Third Man (a movie that is considered to be the city’s favorite movie ever made). The wheel that was completed back in 1897. If you get inside of one of the 15 wooden gondolas, it will take you around in a full circle in about 20 minutes and at its highest point, you will find yourself being approximately 213 feet up in the air.

Tiergarten. Are you taking your children with you? If so, one place that we’re sure they will love is Tiergarten. That’s because it is the oldest zoo in the entire world. In fact, the zoo actually holds on to some of its 1752 charm because the cages are structured around the 18th-century central octagonal pavilion. And aside from all of the animals that you and your children can enjoy looking at, the zoo also houses a polarium and rainforest too.

Stadtpark. If you are someone who is a fan of classical music, ConcertVienna.com is a website that provides you with information about all kinds of operas and classic concerts that happen year-round in Vienna. But if you also enjoy taking strolls through the park, make sure that you also stop through Stadtpark too. As the largest of the Ringstrasse parks, music is literally the theme of the park. You’ll be able to hear plenty of it there.

Xocolat. A perfect way to end a day in Vienna is to go to the Xocolat emporium. As a place that is both a boutique as well as a workshop, you can actually partake in the workshops that are offered by appointment only. You’ll walk away with a craving in your sweet tooth satisfied in the most delicious kind of way. Happy traveling!
